Epic Games

The adrenaline rush, the excitement, the build battles, then the words Victory Royale.

Fortnite is a third-person shooter created by Epic Games. The game instantly grew in popularity on all gaming systems. The developers update the game weekly to add new content, such as new weapons, vehicles, items, or mechanics, and keep the game fresh. In Fortnite, there are 3 different game modes you can play.

The first mode is Save the World, which was initially released in July of 2017, where you become a hero and fight back husks to save humans from extinction. The second mode is the most popular, which is Battle Royale. Battle Royale was released on September 26, 2017. This mode puts you on the battle bus, which takes you to an island with 99 other players, and you fight to be the last person standing. But, you can also bring your friends along in the duos and squad modes. The last mode is Creative, which was released on December 6, 2018. where you and 15 other players can join a map that you or others have created, and do whatever you want.

There is also a currency called V-Bucks that you can buy or earn. V-Bucks allow you to buy cosmetics such as skins and emotes. You can also buy the battle pass, which resets every season. The battle pass allows you to unlock more than 100 rewards over the span of each season. Recently, the game has dropped in popularity because of the new updates and changes. Due to this, Epic Games basically ended the overlying story in Battle Royale and gave everyone a fresh start with Fortnite Chapter 2.

In my opinion, Fortnite has had its highs and lows but is overall a pretty good game. Over the span of the game, the developers have added and removed new features. Some of these I have enjoyed, and some of these I’ve hated. Examples of the features they added are airplanes, hoverboards, and mechs. The early seasons of Fortnite were when the game was the most enjoyable. But, unfortunately, as the seasons went by Epic Games started to add bad features that were ruining the game. This lead to many people quitting or even uninstalling the game. At one point, I uninstalled the game because of how boring it got. But recently the game has become much more enjoyable and I’ve started to play it again. I also have experiences with Save the World. It’s a very time-consuming game mode, but it’s fun most of the time.

Overall, Fortnite is a constantly changing game that has its pros and cons. The gaming community has loved and hated it. The map changes, the skins come and go, weapons are added and removed. The game always stays fresh with every update and brings in new players as the seasons go by. In conclusion, I think that Epic Games did a great job at creating a good game that can be enjoyed by everyone.
